Hotels on US Highway 65: A Mid-Missouri Pit Stop That Doesn't Feel Like One

US-65 runs from the Iowa border down through Sedalia. Here's where to stop, eat and sleep when you're driving through Carroll County.

Hotels on US Highway 65: A Mid-Missouri Pit Stop That Doesn't Feel Like One

US Highway 65 is one of the most-driven north-south corridors in Missouri — it connects the Iowa state line at Princeton down to Sedalia, on to Springfield, and eventually to Branson and the Arkansas border. Truckers, vacationers, hunters heading to Swan Lake, families driving back from Branson — they all share this stretch of road.

There's a long quiet middle of US-65 where the towns thin out and the gas stations get further apart. That middle runs through Carroll County, and the practical overnight stop is in Carrollton, Missouri, where Westbridge Inn & Suites sits right on the highway at 1408 N US-65.

Why this stretch matters

If you're driving Kansas City → Des Moines, or Branson → Iowa, or doing the long crawl from Springfield up to Minneapolis, Carrollton is roughly the midpoint of the Missouri leg. There's no Interstate hotel cluster nearby. The next significant lodging options are Chillicothe (45 minutes north) or Marshall and Sedalia (50–70 minutes south). When the kids are done in the car, this is where you stop.

What you'll find at exit 65

Easy on, easy off. Westbridge is visible from the highway on the east side of US-65 — look for the white W on the gradient orange sign. Pizza Hut is on the same property line. A 24-hour fuel station with hot food is across the parking lot. The whole stop takes less than two minutes from highway to room key.

The rooms are quiet — set back from the highway with insulated windows. Free hot breakfast in the morning means you don't have to find food before you get back on the road.

Truckers, this part is for you

If you're driving an 18-wheeler or a long bus and you've been burned by hotels that don't actually fit your rig: Westbridge has spacious, level, easy-in/easy-out truck and bus parking. Mention you're a trucker at the front desk and ask about the discount — we keep one for the people who keep US-65 moving.

The little things that matter at 11 p.m.

  • Front desk staffed 24 hours — we'll be awake when you arrive
  • Free Wi-Fi strong enough to actually use
  • Fridge and microwave in every room, so the leftover gas-station sandwich survives until breakfast
  • Pet-friendly — your dog rides with you, your dog stays with you

For longer stays, ask about our weekly rate. For corporate accounts, we'll set up direct billing — most of our wind-farm and utility crews pay this way.

Book your stop direct → and we'll have a coffee waiting in the lobby.
